Our Rich History
NUTEC ETS Schaefer traces its roots to 1934. In 1997, ETS Schaefer was formed through the merger of Engineered Thermal Systems and Schaefer Brothers, bringing together decades of refractory expertise.
A pioneer in ceramic fiber substitution since the late 1970s, the company developed the first monolithic ceramic fiber lining system and patented the Monster Module™️ in 1983. It later developed additional technologies, including Perm+A+Lining®️ and MonsterLock™.
In 2026, the company was acquired by NUTEC Group and became NUTEC ETS Schaefer.
